For those of you who have hunted sheep in 6-29, How did you cross the Tatshenshini River? This will be my first hunt up there and I have no idea how large the river is where most people cross it. Is it cross-able on foot or do you need a canoe or other floatable device to get across? TIA

We crossed in 1984. Used waders to check it out & then drove a 2 wheel drive truck across, when up by Pardon creek & camped at 4500 ft.
Not sure if you can use a motorized vehicle anymore?
We had a great hunt, 3 guys, 2 Dalls & one black wolf. Lots of Griz in the area.
Hope this helps.
Good hunting.
Looks like Dalls are leh only in 628 and 629. Are there any in 627 as this has a GOS

I waded across in 2008 late Aug early Sept. The river rises later in the day as it warms up.
Good luck.

Thanks for the info. Sounds like you had a great hunt! No motorized vehicles allows anymore.

I don't think there are any true dalls in 6-27. Maybe some fannins.

Very interesting. I always thought of the Tat as a huge river, amazing you can walk across.
Sounds like good terrain for horses. Even if the river gets a bit deeper.
