Chilko lake mule deer

Wondering who knows where the horse trail trail heads are up to the alpine above Chilko lake. Planning a backpack trip up there this fall for high country mulies. Any help would be appreciated. PM please.Thanks

There are some trails into the Potato Range....but its in the chilcotin nation territory and there is no hunting or fishing in that area. You would have to go half way down the lake to get to crown land.

As BCbuckhunter stated it is a no go zone for PALEFACE.Maybe stay on Tatlayoko side and try NIUT RANGE.BIG mountains with some decent bucks.I would try Jamieson Creek trail if you have a boat?Or a ways down Potato range as bcbh sez?

FYI, west road motorized access that takes you down to Jamieson is now all through private, posted land. If you don't have a boat you can cross North beach by foot and keep walking.
