Yesterday, I spent the entire day and evening up the Elaho Valley - and didn't see any bears - worse than that, not even a single sign of a bear - no tracks (fresh or old) - and not even a single blackie shit - nothing! Nada!
I couldn't believe it. Every road/trail (whether low in the valley or high in the sub-alpine) was completely sterile. :icon_frow
Justa heads up guys - if you're thinking of trying to squeeze one more bear day in before the 15th - I wouldn't bother with the Elaho.
I don"t know where they're hanging out up there ..... but they were definitely safe from me yesterday.
