So a friend of mine and I are planning our spring bear hunt. We are going the weekend of the 14-15 of May. We are undecided on where to go. He has a cabin on Scaha Lake and that is where we went this past fall for deer.

But, we have no idea what the bear hunting is like there in MU8-9. He has never hunted spring bear and has only seen one bear in the fall near the dump. I am still relatively new to bear hunting as well. Took a bear 3.5 years ago in the fall and have been hunting hard in the spring but to no avail.

So, we are looking to get a bit of info as to whether it is worth it to hunt that area for spring bear. And before people give us crap for asking this, we are only asking for what those of you who may hunt up there have experienced as far as bear activity up there. We are also bringing our sisters up with us because they are wanting to get into hunting as well.

The other option is to go to Nahatlatch or Pemberton both of which I have a feeling well be insanely busy then.

Thank you in advance for the info

Bears are already out, timing should be good.

Find green grass = find bears. Last couple of hours seem to be the best.

You should be fine.

Bears are out in 8-09. Seen this little guy last weekend up behind Naramata. At the bottom, is a cam pic in 2014 from the same area of a nice bear standing in the snow on April 10th.

Look for deactivated roads and new clover. Has worked for me in the past. Good luck.
