Does, anyone here know of a Lower Mainland source for a genuine "bearded axe", one of the traditional weapons/tools of the Norse, who founded Canada?

I want real quality, perhaps handforged and am willing to pay what this costs.

I am also VERY interested in a "Claymore", the later basket hilt type and again, high quality is paramount as well as genuine design.

Had to google it, to see WTF bearded axe looked like and came across this. Not sure if it meets your Viking standards, but it's not priced cheap.

On the Bushcraft site the "Karesuando" looks to be a nice small axe.

Probably too small for your intended usage but sure seems to be quality.

Try warriorsandwonders.com. I've ordered from them so many times. They have the lowest pricing I can find. Based in Vancouver too.

Too small?.. not enough beard?

need more details…. is this going to be a user?

Possibly this? http://www.bushcraftcanada.com/products/detail.cfm?product=2018

This one is cool… http://www.gransforsbruk.com/en/product/gransfors-bearded-axe-with-eye-socket/ ...but can't seem to find one in N. America… or even Europe.

Custom? Mathew M. Paul (U.S.A.) makes some amazing hand forged tools. But it will cost you. Not sure if his order book is even open. http://new.mpknives.com/products/axes/

I like axes. But am more of an American felling axe type of guy.

I have recently ordered from bushcraftcanada and warriorsandwonders and both had very speedy delivery and no problems at all. I can also agree with looking at gransforsbruk axes, I have their small forest axe and it is extremely well made and comes hair shaving sharp, bought my axe from Lee valley
