Went to my first WSSOBC sheep count this past weekend, great job by all the people involved with organizing the event. Perfect day for glassing, great turnout of volunteers, and great numbers put forward at the end of the day. Had loads of fun swapping stories, getting to know the guys in my group, and I'll definitely be going again next year. We broke off into groups of 2 or 3 people and all got assigned different zones to glass. Here are a couple of pictures from the day, our group saw about 30 sheep in total. Lots of ewes and yearlings, and a few banana rams.

That looks like a fun activity. I heard that sheep numbers might be down due to transmission of domestic sheep diseases. Were there any indicators of lower numbers?

It was a good day for sure. Glad I got paired up with you and Vossie. You will like the phone skope. Makes it so much easier to snap photos.

It will be interesting to see what comes out of the contact crisis at Mound Creek , near Chasm. Lots of potential for connectivity transfer there.

Hopefully You, Vossie, and I can get paired up again next year too Brew! I'll definitely be making time for more upcoming counts. Might even head up on my spare time to sharpen my glassing skills... Lord knows I need it!
