Hi there everyone.
I live in the Okanagan, but am temporarily working in Fernie/Elko. Working on the road has killed my hunting the last few years so I was hoping to find a couple areas in the Elk valley that I may be able to harvest a black bear in the evenings. I know that there are a ton of good recreational areas around here, but there are a lot of people that love the outdoors too. I was just hoping to find somewhere that I wont run into too many hikers/dirt bikers/mountain bikers. I prefer to harvest bears that are a good distance from houses to mitigate garbage bears.
I would like to head up towards Elkford to get to know that area too.
Any tips are appreciated, Thanks Everyone!

Haven't been north of elkford yet this spring but there are tons of slides to glass. Lots of small bears and grizzlies

Tons of ground between Fernie and Elko on the River Road across from the highway. Only a farm or two at the north end. I've seen really nice bears there at the river bottom and the chutes and old cuts up higher should be full of them too.
