I am looking at purchasing a new scope for my 7mm rem mag. I Have a budget around 1300-1500$

I have been looking at the zeiss hd5 and the Swarovski z3 but will consider other similar quality scopes. Looking into the 12-15 zoom range.

Turrets or reticle? Turrets go with 30mm tube, reticle 1" is fine. NF shv is in that price range...

I would go with either, haven't had turrets or a reticle for distance. So I'm not picky

Just a thought, find a scope that suits your hunting style.........then find out what it costs. You maybe surprised that the one that suits is several hundreds of dollars less than your budget.

I'd buy the Bushnell LRHS 4.5-18x44 for that price range if you want to dial and shoot. Better glass than the shv, ffp reticle, custom turrets available. If you want a hunting scope go with the Zeiss rapid z if you want a reticle or a Swarovski bt if you want a turret.

Try out a VX-6 Leupold.

Was in your same boat, few years ago. Decided on a VX-6, has option of turrets if required. Did not use. Liked because could get fixed in Calgary if required. Has excellent low lite values. The illuminated sight has proved handy in low lite and quick target moments. Plus when you are in doubt and looking at horns this thing is better than a set of binos and very easy to make the call. Used you can pick them up for your price range. On my 7mm o-300 just put on target -400-halfway on optic hair -500 at optic hair transition.
