This is the bowhunting section lol. As simple as your plan is, it might not work for the OP if he's planning a bow hunt.

Buying a tag and hopefully going to get that stupid new Fwid thing, then backpacking into an area, don't know exactly where yet, but gonna be by myself and hike in somewhere a ways and camp in my new hike in tent...if I see a pred to nuke it's a bonus, it'll just be good to get out hike n camp...also focusing on shed hunting, bear hunting ain't serious for another 40-50 days for me..

If your looking to bow hunt black bears. Id head north. Highway 37. May 06. More black bears than you will know what to do with. Great spot for bow!

FYI-New 400m closures coming to Hwy 37.....at least that's what I heard.

Would that be 400m no shooting? Or no hunting? Could be great for bow hunters.

No centerfire same as everywhere else. I hope they dont pass it. Or at least only along the transmission line. North of the stikine its a stupid regulation. South of it they have somewhat of a rationale.

Center fire or single projectiled center fire? Dont realy matter for stick and string. But could change from slug to 00 buck for backup.

There use to be a 400 meter restriction years ago. But I believe they removed it because it wasn't enforceable to all "groups".

Sorry single projectile. Thats what was proposed. No news on if its a rule yet. Not for spring 16 anyway if it goes through it will be implemented for 17.

Weekend of April 23rd and 24th I will do my rounds and check for poops, with a rifle incase I come across a boar. Not getting serious until a week into May, but I will repeat this every weekend until the bears are out in numbers, then I will sit in the most promising spot until we get one. If we get one, repeat in second most promising spot. If we get another, we will purchase more tags. Then we will eat beargers and bear tacos for the next couple years. Repeat.

I'm going to miss the first weekend because I will be out of town. After that though, hit the bush until I've got myself a bear. Lots of good spots close to home. I usually wait until May to start bear hunting, but not this year. They seem active earlier than previous years. I think probably has to do with the drought we had last year and all the berries drying up so early in the summer. I'm excited though. I love bear hunting. I love hunting in general, but I really love bear hunting.

And feathers! Somebody's planning to get up close and personal! And I thought my old 2315's were heavy at 540gr. Haha.

665gr?! Man how fast are you shooting that one?

Just re-stringed the xbow to get it chronied, 380ish fps @419gr. It's probably gonna drop to 250fps if I have em that heavy.

Havent put them through the chronograph yet, but it'll be around 160fps I imagine.
