How is the fishing in Masset Inlet in late August? I've been to the Islands 5 times now and am considering taking my boat for the first time. I know there is a Spring closure in the inlet, but what about other species?

Any tips - "do" and "do not" would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks.

There should be a very strong pink salmon run in Masset inlet this year. Lots will be caught off the Port Clements dock by spin casters with buzz bombs.
I never spend any time in the inlet myself, rather I always put in at Masset boat launch and head out from there, but there should be lots of salmon to target in the inlet, probably just not as consistent as other areas.

Thanks. I have a Lund SSV 16, which may not be the ideal vessel for heading out North from Masset. How are the ground fish stocks in the inlet? Any other suggestions?

Thanks again.
