Anyone heading out for some before the season close this end of March? I'm thinking of putting some days on the field and try to get one. I heard they taste good …no carpet jokes :mrgreen:

Cancel that. Just saw open here. Bummer though I saw one coming out of hale creek 2 weeks ago. It was about 70 yards up trail in front of me. Had I known it was open and had a tag I could have got it.

Cougar is actually very tasty. I had mine made into ham and smokies.. Once you got it out of your mind that you were eating cat, it was delicious..

I second that. Had kitty into steaks. Didnt beleive it until my taxidermy asked wheres the meat. Looks like pork and tasted great. A little sweeter than beef. Hands down one of the top 5 wild game

Makes me sad I didn't have a tag for it when I saw the one I did. Especially since I was told I was lucky to see one without using dogs. Wasn't even looking for anything that day. Just showing a buddy around.
