Anyone been 7-11 Tatuk lake area east

has anyone fished or hunted this area supposed to be some moose there are there any elk around baldy hughes area .

Hunted Tatuk lk area 3yrs back. Saw several mature Bulls (moose), No immature & no calves.
If your drawn for bulls you should'nt have any trouble punching your tag.

Lots of clear cuts and lots of people, deer, moose, elk, and blackies all running around.

I hunt there all the time. If it is elk you want you have to go to the west end by the resort. A friend took a nice 6x6 last year down there. I have been hunting at the east end for 15 years and know guys that come up every year for the last 40 and they have never seen any elk sign at all. They are closer to the fields at the other end. I don't know about the west end but there are tons of hunters on the roads at the east end. When all the road warriors are out the hunting is real slow same as when the logging is going hard. It is not impossible to get a moose but it sure makes it hard.

Ya I was there last year and it's a terrible place 2 hunt.

Hunted that area since the early 70's...never seen an elk, and only the last several years (up higher) have seen more deer......

i've lived in prince george my whole life and i don't think tatuk lake is all that close to baldy hughes??? but there have been elk around baldy hughes in the past. lots of hunters too!

I have Been into the Back side of Tatuk. Its some tough going But if its Isolation you want thats it. There is Lots of swamps and wet Marshes. And some other little lakes in there as well. As for elk you might want to try down more to the Blackwater area. And Up over the Tako road, down to the Old Hixon Ferry Landing. You can get right Back into the Mackenzie Lakes . via the old old . trail. its,s about 25 km around that way.:-D There has also Been Monster Moose taken out of there aswell.
