These are a few pics from my first season with Timber. He is one hell of a hunting dog and knows way more about birds than I do.

Great looking dog, sounds like your enjoying each other too, nothing like hunting wild roosters over a good dog.

Great pics

Great pics, I love the third one, looks like he knows what he's
doing and means business. Tad more clarity and you could wrap a frame around it.

I really like the third pic.
His tousled coat and the tree trunk match.
Sasquatch, would you mind if I uploaded that pic and use it as a desktop background?
That's a great looking GWP

Fill your boots Knute. Glad you like it.

I wish I was carrying a better camera for them, but I've gotten lazy about taking a camera with me. The pheasant one and the last one were shot with a good point and shoot, the other two with my phone.

Thanks, it just happens to fit nicely around all the icons on my desktop. Your dog is framed just right.

I have had the pleasure of hunting with this Pup for waterfowl and pheasant and he is a great dog. I missed a fantastic double point between Mater and Timber do to a work call. Like who answers the phone during a hunt anyway. However I did get to see a nice double point a little later that day. The boys worked really well that day and didnt compete, just complemented each other. It was very cool to see. I look forward to many more hunts with you 2 ! Cheers

Yes, I think I may start taking your phone away from you when you are carrying a firearm. You missed a spectacular double point and I missed taking a pic trying to get you to see it. :-)
Well, I have to blame someone for my being slow with the camera.

I have no doubt we will see more double points from the boys over the next few years.

Here's a pic of two of my favorite hunting dog breeds. My buddies Wirehaired Pointing Griffon on the left and my German Wirehaired Pointer Timber on the right.

They are both hell on birds in different ways. The Griff is methodical, hunts close and at a steady pace. Timber runs big, covering lots of ground and is super intense.

Together, they are a great team.

Yama asked me how I got them to stay still for the pic I told him "I shot them" but I think he may have been talking about the dogs.
