So we captured a picture of this buck on our game cam last fall. We had hopes of seeing him again and taking him home with us. Apparently he had other plans. A few days after he appeared on our game cam, he was shot by a friend of mine on the other side of the valley. After seeing his kill photos we showed him our trail cam pic. My friend is also a taxidermist, and he had a form kicking around that he didn't know what to do with. So he mounted the deer and took this photo in the same pose the deer took when standing in front of our cam. Check it out.

Real nice buck...his neck looks a bit swollen on that pic, probably bred a few does I'm guessing before he was taken..

That is very cool! How far "as a crow flies" would you say he was harvested from where you got the picture?

Not too far at all really. The buck had to cross a river, but he was harvested on a mutual friends farm so I am able to measure it on google earth at about 2 kms as the crow flies.
