Hi guys
I've been crusing around the sight for a bit and thought I'd say hello. I'm an avid hunter that moved from Alberta to Prince George about a year and a half ago. I love to take my kids hunting now and am loving BC.
We have mules and horses on the ranch and raise Watusi cattle.

Do you remember the night we cozied up together under the freshly skinned sheep in your pic to keep from freezing to death. I had nerve damage in my big toes for 6 months after that hunt. That was a tough hunt. Good to see you on here. Hope all is well.
Nice troph room by the way.

wow!!!and here I was going to tell him welcome to the I-net and the website, and wear a Kevlar suite, and you'll be just fine (as we all know, it can get a little ornery here at times....rare...but sometimes), and he will be good to go.....
but....after reading that.....no need to worry!
Welcome.

Holy smokes Mike! (If I remember your name right, sorry if not, it's only been 9 years, lol). I lost big toenails and little toenails and had nerve damage as well for 6 months. Pretty much the funnest hunt ever (and the first hunt where I was being guided for a change). Great to hear from you.

Awesome animals, welcome to the site. Copy and paste the image code from photo bucket, it will put two codes up, delete the upper code as it will make a direct link to your photo bucket.
Look foward to you pictures, even of the cows!

What did yous guys get into, lol

I'll give you the short version.

-I got called for a cancellation hunt that had 9 days left.
-arrangements were made and flights purchased in an hour.
- flew Calgary, Edmonton, Norman Wells, to camp by 2pm.
- had a bowl of soup, shot my gun, got in a super cub and headed up into a valley and landed on a gravel bar.
- walked about 10 miles and got above tree line. I was destroyed after that day. Hadn't slept for 2 days.

-We we got up the next day to go explore. Found a valley with tons of ram's in it.
- picked this ram and bumped him several times.
- got him at 10:30 that night just before dark.
- we were 7 hours from camp so we caped him and spent the night there. Lunch was gone at lunch time. Lots of sheep meat but not a stick to make a fire.
- shivered through the night and headed a different way to a different air strip loaded with meat and a full cape.
- got a close to the airstrip but found it wasn't any good. Had to walk back to camp and trudge through the tundra and climb a few mountains to get back.
- about 40 hours after we left camp we finally stumbled (staggered) back.
- we feasted and slept. Then loaded the camp on top of our meat and cape loads and lugged them out to the strip.

Trip of of a lifetime with a great guide and a 40" ram. Couldn't have been better.

We quickly forget the pains of climbing the mountain while reminiscing about the view. I like it rough and totally understand. Really enjoy the pictures.
