Some of the biggest herds and healthiest in the valley in decades right there, and we still can not get a general open season . Good luck on the count 358 , you might get lucky and find a cranker on the ground that died of old age.. cheers

Yes so far the herds been healthy , our count ## in the last 10 years have been very steady . Don't think we will ever see a GOS season down there maybe a increase in the LEH would be nice.
In the 20+ years that I have been doing the count IIRC they have only found 4 dead heads . Tough country ,lots of cougars + coyotes too .
You should come down for a hike if you and the Kid have time.

Have never done any sort of sheep hunting but do feel the need to say thank you to everyone who participated.
How where the numbers?

For an animal that has struggled to maintain healthy numbers in the wake of habitat alienation and degradation, historic over hunting, as well any number of diseases. We are very fortunate indeed to live somewhere, that still affords us that chance at drawing a tag for such an amazing creature.
