Over the past week of Grizz huntin' I passed up lots of bears, like I mean LOTS! So Friday I told my dad I wanted to get my first bear while I was with him. So we headed out and hunted from 6 till 8. Just driving out on the powerline we came around the corner and saw a big boar blackie run into the bush, so we drove up the road and walked back down and waited for the boar to come back out. About 5-10 minutes of waiting (almost getting dark) we saw a brownish black bear come out on the other side of a pond. So I decided thats the one. We walked for about 2 minutes down the road and I told my dad it's RIGHT there, about 75 yards feeding. So I get ready(shooting free handed) I hear my dad whisper "now" BOOM!!!!!!! The bear starts spinning and runs into the bush. We waited for it to come out on the road...There it is! BOOM!!!!! It ran about 25 yards from where we took the second shot and died. We dragged it out onto the road. Cut my tag and got the truck, skinned it and now it's all in the freezer.

About 5 and a half foot. Dry Sow. Beautiful rust coloured hide. Took her with the .270 WIN. 140 grain Barns X.

Sorry about the quality but the headlights from the truck over powered the flash on my camera.

Will - Its more of a rusty colour than a cinnamony colour, if anything I would say in between rust and cinnamon.

"Cinnamon" is a generic description that is generally applied to most ALL "brown phase" Black bears...

Eitherway it's a Great Coat on that Fella8)
