Tanning bear hides

can someone please tell me what the average price to tan a bear hid would be, a local taxidermist charges 18 buck a square foot, im not sure if thats a good deal or not,

the hide I had tanned last year was $200

Tanning a hide is different from getting a "finished rug" done...:wink:

18 bucks a square foot is abit pricey for just a "tanning" job.

But would be a very reasonable fee (read cheap) for a Taxidermist to charge for a finished rug mount.

Stay away from the tannery in Vernon. After the shafting I took from them I wouldn't send them a road killed cat!!!!!!
