For those interested there is an intro to map, compass and navigation on Feb 21st at MEC North Vancouver. Not sure what it will be like, but it's free!

Looks like a good course especially that it's free. I let the taxpayer pay for my navigation training back when I was wearing the queens uniform. There are some YouTube channels that have some good navigation videos that deal with some slightly more advanced techniques.

Yeah, the course itself is not a big deal but you may meet some interesting folks.
You can find tons about navigation on the tube.

Bummer. I signed up a few weeks ago. They have them pretty often I think, and more often at the Broadway MEC.

these are just two channels but are both pretty good in my opinion.
