sorry, I was rushing to get the post up, as I was late. It should have said grizzly, my apologies. Just listened to a bit of it, This Lynda Steele lady is really trying to drum up emotions and get emotional responses, ignoring solid callers with valid points. Guess shes just trying to get local vancouver listeners

Add to that the campaign by all the environmental extremists plus Lush cosmetics. They are trying to hijack and corrupt the public consultation to marginally liberalize the g bear and wolf hunt. Lush is even handing out flyers in my local store urging people to register and oppose the consultation.

Have bcwf or goabc made any public statements on it? If so I haven't heard any.

They've screened their calls for years. I used to watch Larry King on CNN. He had an hour show watched by millions, with commercial breaks. He could get 6 or more callers on to ask questions of his guests and get answers. With NW you are lucky to hear 2 on a 90 minute program. CKNW is a joke.

A few years ago the Suzuki Foundation was on Bill Good about Grizzly hunting. The very first caller was "a subsistence hunter living in Northern BC calling from his sat phone who doesn't normally listen to the radio". He decided to call in and voice his opposition to the hunt. Funny how that is. I think he was the only caller to get through.

cknw has really gone down hill the last few years. Bill leaving killed the station. He was really good at his job and the way he ran the program.

Simi and Lynda SUCK and JM is a pussy. Drex is alright, as he is pretty hard on politicians. They are all far left though.

The way they do the show is like a facebook page, a friggen mess.

Mike ekford ran a good show there and I suspect his views and the stations views didnt mesh

Ive called into Bills show a few times and have got through on hunting and gun related issues. I had left a mess on the LL and said my son was getting his first 22 for his 5th birthday, this was 2 years ago. They ran that on the air a few times and called me to do a half hour show so I did. They were betting on me getting raked over the coals. I was able to get out some good info and that this 22 was designed for kids and that safety was the #1 concern. We took 6 or so calls on the radio and only one was negative. Jessica told me the phone board lit up with full support except 1 lady that they put through. She didnt even have any counter or valid points, just a nut. Bill may not have liked the g bear hunt but had nothing against hunters let a lot of good callers through on the open lines in support of the hunt. Mostly balanced

i heard you on air and have to say you knocked it out of the park. I still remember it years later you did a great job getting common sense and logic out to the public. I tired to call in to support you but was met with a busy signal.

I saw Bill speak at a conference once, he was on a panel discussing the upcoming election at the time. The problem was, he said, was that the news is written and produced by young, single twenty & thirty something women. "Like totally we soo have to like, get rid of hunting, like totally right?" See what I'm saying this is where you get these stories from, ever notice that "news" today consists of a few local stories, a leftist piece and then immediately into some garbage about Madonna or Miley or whoever the heck is in Hollywood right now? There's a reason for that - case in point producers and writers.

Now there are plenty of young women that don't act or think this way on this board, I'm not trying to insulting you or anyone with this thread and if I am - grow up and stop being so sensitive - but stop think about where we get our news and information from and how it's presented. Make sense now.... Produced and directed by people who lean left, waaaaaaaaaaaaaaay left, who make sure that the presenters and reporters lean the same way too. That's why you have Simi and that idiot Sophie L. continuously throwing in their editorial during broadcasts.

Just watch global every once and a while and you'll catch a glimpse see the producer when the introduce her on air.

Fight and make your opinion known - this is straight and obvious hunter shaming and we should not stand for it. Support trophy hunting even if you don't participate, once this fight of the bleeding heart and left is won, your LEH and GOS comes next, and finally they take your guns.

The only good host on CKNW is Mike Smythe. Rafe was good in the past. But the station is all commercials with a tiny bit of "content." Not worth spending your time listening to unless you want a payday loan or something like that ... don't know how they keep going ... lost me ...
