Headed up again for another excursion with 4pointer and HighCountry. The beginning of our trip had gotten off to a slow start, as always, due to traffic and the lame weather ahead. We managed to get up into the bush late Friday evening. Due to our very late arrival we only had approximately an hour left of daylight so we decided to cruise around and do a bit of glassing and such. Drove around for a bit, seen a few deer and fresh scat, but no bear. Finally we decided to header and set up camp. Just as we rounded about the third bend this guy happened to be feeding on the side of the road about 50 yards ahead. Perfect, since I've been wanting to run into a nice brownie this season. Next thing you know I'm out of the truck loading up my rifle. Fed him one round of 7mm WSM 160 grain FP Nosler Accubond and he dropped on the spot. Sorry for the picture quality. We forgot our camera and had to use a phone cam.

Nice bear Joe. You and your buddies always seem to manage to put some fur on the dirt. Well done!

Thats a great colour on the Bear8)

It just goes to show you that just when you're about to give up for the day, anything can happen or appear around a corner.

Good shooting:wink:
