Was looking in the regs ptarmigan still open , has any one seen any around here I don't believe ive ever seen any around here

Ask around with local sledders. I have seen flocks of them in the winter months in the sub-alpine and alpine areas. Babcock area many years ago I have flown over sizeable flocks in the winter. Sorry no recent intel, probably after fresh snow one could find tracks, put on the snow shoes and get at 'er. Good way to get some exercise!

go up hasler to the plant and go into snow lake seen some in there last week

high ground, as others have said. Ask the sledders. I've seen them (not recently) on most of the easily-accessible alpine around TR. Also around Powder King. They do come down to lower elevation in winter, but finding them is hit & miss.

Lots of easy to research trails that take you into elevation around tumbler, always lots of ptarmigans not far above the treelinest
