I'd love to hunt hogs. I guess there not everyones faveriote critter (farmers, land owners, etc, and they do affect deer population but I sure wish we had some around BC. What a rush it would be nail a big tusker!

If I remember right the hunt for the hogs was around the fraser river banks in the lower mainland. It was some time ago.

I did see some photos of two that were shot at Harrison. One by a hunter and one by a C.O.The theory was that someone started to raise them illegally on Mount Baker and he let them go to keep from being prosecuted.

so-what happened to them, were they all killed off?
Anybody ever heard of or seen one in recent years?I would think unless thay had a breeding base of a number of sows they wouldn't survive too long
The CO branch claims that there aren't any, but we know how hard they are to kill off! Fred

i'm quite certain they could survive in the bush, being an omnivor, but equally I think they'd target any food source and if they are around at all evidence would be seen in farm areas
A buddy of mine said he saw a show on the TV the other day about hogs here in BC... but the dumbass can't remember where abouts they said the hogs were in BC

They were around Dewdney too. My friend lived at the very end of Hawkins Pickle Road. The CO's shot a Euro Boar up there late 80' 90ish. We actually got info where to go look and we went out a couple of times. Nothing.
Story is a game farm lost a bunch quite a while ago.
