I am more curious than anything, he is heavy, wide and tall, doing a euro mount. Simple story, spotted him a few months ago and hunted him hard until he made a mistake. Hard heavy pack out but worth it.

Yah thats an impressive buck! And downhill or not thats still a good trek especially if he left it whole i always try to drag it out whole if its a possibility less hair and cleaning/wastage of the meat. Thanks for sharing beuty

Nice buck, real nice. A buck like that deserves a story with it and some more pictures. I would love to hunt country like that! Its real nice that you were able to see him a few times instead of just for a split second before you shot him. Hmmm boone and crocket.... Needs bigger front forks even with all that nice mass, I would have mounted it but it will make a beautiful euro too. The hard work makes the success taste better, thanks for sharing.

So, that's why your looking for a B&C scorer! And just getting into some of those area's along the river can be brutal, I can't imagine what packing that guy out was like! But, I bet you smiled the whole way! And rightly so! Congrat's on a well deserved Boone and Crockett Mule Deer Buck! And, if possible let us know what he scores!

just wanted to say nice buck! and nice to hear that someone had to work hard to get that buck.
I always scratch my head how some people get so lucky and have a trophy class buck standing or
running in front of their trucks (never happens to me!).
But, in your case it was hard work from start to end, so you get an extra thumbs up from me!

What is the inside spread? Kinda hard to tell with the pics. How far away are you from the deer? Looks like good mass and tall from the pics it looks like 180+ but I am going to guess more like 165".

thats a dandy! congrats on being persistent with that buck! I'm no expert but looking at that mass combined with the length of those tines I'm guessing he should be in the 180's

Backcountry Hunter
12-10-2015, 10:05 PM
I'm also guessing 180-190". Hard to judge from pictures. Once scores let us know how big he is
