Just out of curiosity, who has killed with a bow a Pope & Young animal. And if you do, how many and what species?

Is there very much difference between Pope & Young and Boone & Croket?

There's a huge difference in sheep. Basically, any arrowed legal ram makes the P&Y books. Other species the difference is lees pronounced.

I have been fortunate to harvest over 2 dozen pope and young class animals.
I don,t care to enter any trophies any more, I hunt for MYSELF, I had SEEN what other so called bowhunters have done in the past, just to kill a animal for the record books, they will do any thing to kill that animal.

The only ones I have entered are the provincial typical whitetail record, one goat and a cougar, and they were a long ago.

I had taken 8 bull elk with a bow, in which 7 were over the pope and young minimum, the largest scored 311, 13 Whitetail with again 7 pope and Young class with last years 133 typical that I had a story on this site, 5 mulies, my largest scoring at 166 typical, and 2 bull moose.

9 black bear, my biggest at 19 and seven eights, that I harvested back in 1979 in which I had to arrow it in a tree after it came up after me, I wrote the story for outdoor life and bowbender magazines.

The reasons most of us bow hunt is for the challenge, and the opportunity to harvest many types of animals, the trophy is what each individual bow hunter makes it!

TO EACH THERE OWN!

Massive difference between P&Y and B&C, everybody will see a P&Y buck, not everybody will see a B&C. A boone animal is usually a once in a lifetime event(if you hunt hard or get lucky)

P&Y is any mature animal basically.

Not yet but I'm going to start trying harder, my new bow is shipping on Wednesday so hopefully I can find a good bear and take it with my new setup before the season ends. Missed a P&Y mulie last year, shot my 160 whitetail at 34 yards with my rifle, crap!!
