Hi All,
I couldn't find a thread with an updated weather and snow level report for pink mountain. Or if anyone had any success on their Bison hunt. Let me know what you have for info. I leave in 7 days and would like to have a great story for you all when I return.
Thanks JJ:p

From what I have been told, little or no snow. A first hand report would be awesome Backwoods

I have heard firsthand reports of little snow and no bison down low yet for B zone, not sure what is going on in A. Things should get better the longer you wait.

Sons and I had 2 bison LEH's in Zone A for the last 2 weeks of October. We camped near the air strip beyond the Blueberry Ranch and hunted hard. Didn't see any bison but 3 singleton bulls were taken while we were there. Didn't hear of any other sightings except the 3 killed. Lots of older sign so they're around at some time of the year.
Some hunters were ATV'ing beyond the legal limit.
Best map of the area is the one available through McElhanneys.

Make a phone call to one of the store up there. They're friendly enough people. Find out what the snow is like.

keep in mind the weather changes in a heart beat. I was up in 757a three times and had +10 one day with rain and -20 the next day. Always had sleds when I went in 2003,06 and 08. will be interesting what this season brings for the lucky ones that got LEH's

132 rd had 5" of the white stuff earlier this week, no snow all week and no snow in the forecast for the next week.

Warm weather for this time of year.

Backwoods, there is a good size pack of wolves working the burn off the 132 at 11k, was in there last Friday for some work and there was wolves all over the roads. Found a calf wolf kill on the 120 rd as well as around 24 k. Good luck!!

Cheers

Yah up at pink mnt was about the same, seen a few wolf tracks that was it, some area hand no snow and few spots had good wind drifts, like mentioned above the weather changes by day so come prepared!! Last year we got a few wolves off the 132 at km 15 on the pipeline. Sure is a mild winter so far because last year sleds were mandatory!!!!

so the weather seems to be mild and no snow. Now the next question is has anyone killed anything in the last few days and where?

Trying to decide to go on the blueberry ranch side or try the cypress creek side.

Weather is snow with freezing rain, will turn to snow later tonight. They are calling for 4-6 cm tonight tomorrow. Will be more up there.

As for Buff, cannot help as I have not heard much in the last week.

Snowed all night in Ft. Nelson, still snowing lightly, about 4" so far. Snowed here to Taylor. Forecast is a bit more snow off/on over next week.
Spoke with a local who was in Zone B at Hammett's last week, patchy snow and above zero. Most were using ATV's, he used a Skandic WT. They got a good bull.
Finally got drawn on a group tag with my two boys. Going into Hammett's on the 10th, with sleds.

Is the trail still open from cypress across the halfway to get on the ranch side of the halfway? N56 59.511 W123 0.233 river might not be thick enough to cross yet but have a look

Was all the way back to the Crying Girl on Friday and she was frozen back there and at both river crossings; the Cutoff and the Halfway/Graham. There was some open water in a few riffle spots, but all the main water ways were frozen over....no idea on how deep the ice was.....8" of the white stuff was on the road, but easy to get around.

Were you looking for wolves?? There was some sign back around the Summit and down along the Graham, but it was all old stuff. Not much for moose sign either.

Cheers
