Deer camp was good to us again this year.
We hit it hard all week still hunting the fir groves, it was tough hunting.
Deer were around but we couldn't find a 4 pointer for the first 6 days. Thursday I went back to the LM to pick up my boy, there was a pro D day so I told him I'd bring him to camp.
My hunting buddy and I keep telling him he's good luck, so far every time he's with us we shoot something.
We leave Friday at 4:00, got to camp at 8:00, he asks us why we don't have anything hanging yet, we tell him we were waiting for him to get here.
So we go for a hunt on the edge of the cedars, had a good walk, after 3 hours my boy was hungry and wanted to go back to camp for lunch, so we get in the truck and off we go.
Buddy and I were commenting on how tough the hunting had been, then around the corner I see a doe and something much bigger right behind.
The ID for the shot was pretty quick.
