The current regs expire next June 30th. How far in advance are the following regs published?

Rumour has it the open Bull Elk season in the West Kootenay is done as well as I hope they move the whitetail doe to a bag limit of one if not move it to LEH.

I too hope they change the WT doe from 2 to 1.
In region 4
Population has been reduced significantly...

I totally agree the WT doe bag limit for reg4 should be to one...but it would suck if they cut out the GOS on bull elk in the West Kootenay....wouldn't make sense, here in reg8 we have less elk from what I've heard, we have the same GOS, and yet our elk pops according to the 2014 ungulate numbers is still increasing...

Region 3 could be in for a shock for moose as well

I agree, without question the Bull Elk numbers are down from where they were when the Bull season fist went to a GOS, but I had 6 legal bulls coming to my game cams this year and none of them were the bull I harvested. They are just harder to get and the bulls are becoming wise to hunter calling. It's just a rumour but a lot of hunters and members of our local hunting clubs believe the season is on it's way out, I sure hope not, fingers crossed.

That's for 2014 to 2016... March 31, 2016... has nothing to do with deer season in the fall of 2016...

The west Kootenays: home of the largest group on nimby hunters in the province!

Well good news bud, looks like according to the proposed regulation changes, they plan on leaving the West Kootenay 6 pt elk season intact, but are thinking of doing compulsory inspection, not a bad idea in my opinion...
And their proposing cutting the WT doe season in reg4 down to 1, another good thing in the eyes of many hunters...

With the stable to increasing elk pops in region 8, they want to remove the compulsory inspection, while their proposing to make the moose harvest in reg 8 under compulsory inspection...hmm I guess it's a good idea for the moose pops???

That would be correct. That is why I was asking when we can expect to see new regs published.

If it gets too one sided with whom is allowed all the game resources with restrictions to lic. hunters, so called poaching will just go up. If the law won't allow equal or at least "reasonable" opportunity, people will start to ignore it...at least that's kinda what I've been hearing through the grapevine .

I don't think they can take anything more away from us here!!Unfortunately it's some other Regions turn to take the hit??

If the proposed changes list is an indication I don't see much impact to Moose hunting.
Okanagan will gain LEH
Smithers may lose some LEH numbers
Shortened Bull and Calf season in 7B
Changing youth calf to antlerless in 7B

^^^^^^in my opinion, it would be nice if they just got rid of the moose LEH altogether in region 8 and just lengthened the GOS again, the LEH odds are so low in reg 8 anyway, at least extend the GOS a bit longer than 2 weeks, Im sure reg 8 can handle it, I've seen more moose, moose sign, and good moose habitat in many parts of reg 8 compared to parts of region 4 where the GOS is 6 weeks long...I know reg8 sees immense hunting pressure but still..more road de activation would allow this to happen with even more success..

i have also seen more moose in region 8 but also seen lots of wolves
