Anyone been there lately for fishing? Thinking of taking my tube there this weekend, forecast looks like it might not be raining.

Always lots of cuthroat to catch in that lake.
Red doc spratley has always produced well for me.

A friend lives just down the road from there and enjoys some pretty good fishing for trout.
I've fished there a few times and done well but most trout are small. Black Crappies also
frequent the lake and can be a nuisance if you're only after trout. Be careful when handling them.

Big Lew, why? I have never caught or seen a Black Crappie. Do they have sharp fins?

They have 7-8 sharp spines in their dorsal which can be quite painful
if they stick you. It's important to either handle the fish yourself, or
show your kids the spines so they can be careful...I've seen some pretty
sad little fisherkids after getting pricked.
