Nice bucks T-bone. Congratulations on some very fine looking animals. You've got them figured out in your area I'd say. Always enjoy the bt pics, thanks for sharing. Gives me inspiration to get out and try for one myself.

Yaa.... I believe it's half blacktail, half mulie. The 'Mericans on the facebook page are always accusing bucks of being bench legs.

I don't think it's possible to get a good BT buck without people calling a it bench leg. I'm no expert, but I have seen a lot of ears and a lot of asses. If there's any mule in that buck it's far from dominant.

Just to be clear, in case both of you missed my jovial attempt at humor and the smiley emoticon at the end of my first comment, I am not saying, nor do I think that this buck is a bench leg. ;)

I didn't miss it at all. I too was referring to those jealous folks you were mocking!

Though I must say I myself am full of envy, but in a happy constructive/inspiring way. One day caddisguy... one day... first step is to see a buck lol

Dandy BT you got there T Bone. Congrats.

Great at to hear your salvaging most of the eats, surprising after that much time. Hope for no slippage on the Cape too. Terrific effort and persistence to recover your Buck. You have set the bar high to try to top that guy.

PG 66 will like that one !

Love that mass - a cranker!! Way to hang in there & getter done!

I have a blacktail nut logger buddy that grew up hunting them with his dad & has shot many book blacktails. I haven't hunted blacktail since I moved down here, but I will tag along with him some day...

Had some more luck in the coming weeks. I had been very lucky in finding deer and finding bucks but just nothing that got my blood going, until I ran into this guy! I'm pretty sure I bumped him away from a group of six does and a descent deuce from earlier in the day as his tracks told the story! Well over a km away here he lay;

Probably one of my best seasons in a long time. Im happy to share, doing so I hope some others on here do the same as it's nice to see everyone's success and is mostly the reason I joined this forum in the first place. Enjoy peeps!

Here is a comparison of the two all euroed up, thanks!

I like the euros and the wood. Buck 2 is wider in the front, you must have been really pumped up when you first saw him. Looks like perfect tracking snow. Always wished I had killed a good blacktail when I lived out that way but they were still recovering from that terrible winter of 97. They are such a handsome deer!

Oh ya he is, 22" greatest outside spread. I was indeed vibrating pretty bad! Good thing he was more concerned with killing trees at the time in that 1ft dump.. Very handsome! The capes already at the tanner, I'm gonna make a double pedestal with these two gonna be sweet! But for know I like to handle them like this!
