My cousin drew a doe draw in 3-17. I am going to take him up for his doe as he is a new hunter. Anyone hunted mulies in 3-17? I'm thinking of heading in somewhere just past Lytton any advice would be appreciated. I'm taking him up just for Sat and maybe sunday.

You should be done and on your way home with a doe by lunch time. Only thing make sure its a doe without a fawn.

Drive - park - step out door safe distance from truck - pick deer you want - shoot - load doe into truck - drive home

I shot a doe with a fawn last year. My research and readings says they just join up with the herd if not already grouped up - I am not too sentimental about this kind of thing. Other have different opinions.

Never hunted the area and not sure how much isn't private land but it sure looks like deer country along the hwy between Lytton and Lillooet.

Google Earth a road that takes you UP. Go for a hike with your rifle and come back with a doe.

It's really not a problem up there. Honestly, he should have been scouting a bit if neither of you have ever hunted there. With no prestudy, he can't expect much.

I would avoid this area. Sheep hunted up there for years and maybe seen 10 deer in 20 years. Also a reserve at the bottom and the locals don't like you in there. Valley bottom is mostly private and a reserve is at the bottom and at Botanie Lake.

If it was me I would head north of lilloet.
