Black Bear 2007

Well on Wednesday me and my dad went out for a quick hunt up around moyie lake. Left the house at around 6:45, got to the turnoff at around 7:15, shot the bear at 7:20.

It was a pretty anticlimatic hunt, considering it took around 6 minutes to shoot him, saw it on the road, bear ran off into the bush, with me giving chase. I saw the bear trying to hide in the thick stuff, even though he was right beside the road. But I guess if we were in our truck we would have never have seen him. It was only a 10 yard shot to the bear, would have been perfect with a bow.

Measured him out at 6'2 with a skull around 17 10/16. This was only my second bear, so I was pretty excited with it.

Thanks for posting the pics steeleco and thanks for all the comments. This was a PM bear, had to go to school in the morning.

This weekend we'll be going out for my dads grizzly again, but if we see a big blackie I'll be trying for him with my bow.
