This bull is legal on the right side but say he only had 5 on the right side and he had 4 points on the left side excluding the two points that you see in the middle skull if you add the unicorn two points to the left main beam that has 4 points would it be legal to shoot there would be 6 contable points if you add the unicorn two points very interesting I must say let's hear what you members thoughts are ???.

That is a really neat rack, some awesome character on him!!!! I don't know what a guy counts for points when they have a unicorn!!! 4x2x6?? Lol, never thought about that before!! Sure would be confusing finding the sheds off him haha

As far as I know you can't borrow points from other antlers.

that's interesting???
not sure how or if you can actually count them.
I know they need to be 6 pts on one side, which I would assume is off the "main beam".
Those unicorn points aren't really off the main beam.....so...ahh....I don't know.
That would be an interesting photo to send into the CO's to get their opinion.
I have a good relationship with one out of Invermere, and if you are curious,
I could forward him a photo...as I don't know.
Obviously this bull has 6 pts on the one side, so it's a none issue, but,
as you say, had he been a 5x5 plus those unicorn points, what do you do??
In Germany, they would have taken it out, as to not let it ruin the gene pool, so to speak.
They do that with Roe Deer, taking out only the "weak antlered" bucks, and try to leave the strong ones
when possible.
Thanks for posting.

I gotta say it would be tough to determine an ethical decision on points in the field. But honestly dont think you could add the points from a unicorn antler to another.

It would be neat to see a 6x6x6 haha!

Did you ever get it scored just to see what they come up with?

I will ask a CO about the contable points on this elk will tell him that it has 3 main beams on his head left side 5 right side 4 and the 2 points on the unicorn center skull find out what he says about it we all know that this bull does have 6 contable legal points on the right antler in the picture..

im gonna go with NO,,
if 5 on one, 4 on the other and then the unicorn , if one definitively saw that it was 3 different beams..
maybe i just let a legal bull walk,,but walk he would

Any bull having at least 6 points on one antler...

I'm with you. From the regs:

elk - Six Points or Greater Bull - means
any bull having at least six tines on one antler

A separate, third antler can't be added to the second or first antler.

Pat the regs are as clear as looking into a mirror at yourself I myself also say no its got to be 6 contable points on ether main beam if this bull had 5 on one side and 4 on the other excluding the 2 points in the middle of his head the center antler is considered a third main beam..

This is not a unicorn elk. There are clearly two points coming from the centre beam, making it a binicorn.
