Caribou hunt

So the next day are hunted started we went up the spatsizi trail hunted for 2 days no caribou around.
Let's say this is not an easy hunt in September as the weather can move in fast it was -17 and the wind was nuts was the coldest days I have ever stayed in the bush in a tent.

After 2 day of no luck and freezing almost to death we came back down to camp for a nice warm sleep in the cabins let's just say it was so cold up there that are boots were solid frozen had to use a candle to get them to back to normal.

Day 5 we head into another area and wear going to say in the mountains till we see caribou l hope.

The walk in was a good 4 hours till we start seeing some game.

Finally we get to an area that looks good and we set spike camp and have a couple mountain meals..

After a short walk we start seeing game no caribou yet but moose around every corner and one real nice looking fox sorry no pics of the moose.
wish I had got some pics of some of the monster moose that live in there like 60 inch bulls crazy.

Finally after getting to a high point so I can do some glassing.
I see my first caribou and it's a bull and a real nice looking animal to boot.
So after 2 minutes of looking over the animal with the spotting scope I make up my mind real fast that this animal is good.
I know people told me not to shoot the first one I see but I did sorry boys had to do it.

Yes doing a head mount.
I'll be going again in 2 years if I have luck with the draw and look for something bigger.
Anyone going on this hunt get ready for a awesome hunt but a very hard and heavy pack out these animals way over 450 pounds had to go back 2 times to get meat out and the meat is very good eating.

Well done slyfox, Glad you made it happen. The Spatsizi can be a work out, and I would have taken that Caribou as well.
