Region 8 Youth Hunt

I'm planning a last minute hunting trip with the kids this weekend and would like to stay within a few hours of the mainland, in region 8 for the youth hunt. I'd like to find a moose too, but that would be just a bonus.
After some google hunting, I'm thinking of the East Gate area, possibly Pasayten. Can anybody that's hunted the area tell me if it's worth it. Also some pointers on good camp locations in the area would be helpful.

I think you may be hard pressed to find a moose. Definately buy a whitetail tag. Nice spots about 22 km back, river. Lots of rabbits on back stretch

Seen lots of game in pasayten. Never a Whitetail though. Always good to have a Whitetail tag though.

Don't know about Pasayten.... The snow could be real heavy in there, or can dump on you over night, and those deer that do frequent there are most likely heading for, or are already nearing the wintering grounds. If it was me, I would head in south off the connector at Aspen Grove, and pick a road.
