Just An update . Spent the last 2 weeks scouring the carmi /idlback lake area for bull moose to fill out leh. Found 1 cow with a calf .. No antlers. Found a bull but he headed 3k inside the 8-12 border. Now going to focus on a new area a little more south. Hoping After this weekend I'll see more animals and less hunters lol

There were fresh tracks in about a foot of snow up where I was today, 8-24. Tried some calling , heard a grunt and walked in on a nice bull. Wishing I had a draw tag.
They probably won't come in to a call but will maybe respond if within range.

Good luck , make sure you check the regs lots of that south section of 8-09 is in a Motor Vehicle for Hunting Closed Area
