View Full Version : BC Provincial Firearms Licence, Are they still issued or even required? Just wonderin

Found an old copy of this on file. British Columbia issued (Sold) Firearms Licence, Non-Transferable, Not a hunting licence, Valid for 5 years, cost $20.00, this one was issued in September 1995. As I recall it was what you needed to have a firearm in the bush. Did they do away with it or what.

Just wondering?

The Provincial Govt dropped them soon after the Federal PAL/POL came into effect.

It used to be. All you needed was a hunting license to hunt or carry a firearm. An FAC to buy rifles or guns.

Good to know! I kinda suspected something like that, but always good to double check. Thanks for your quick response. I'm good for rabbits then.

I have hunting licenses back to 1995. They used to say. Validation entitles the holder to hunt and carry firearms under the wildlife act. And in 2009. and up. only good to hunt wildlife.

I remember having one of those ... used to be $2 per year ...early 80's
