Eight trips to the Chiro

Lol! I've used them a lot when I was younger, carrying very
heavy loads with them. "blackbart" has it pegged!

HAHA! my dad has one of those and I wouldn't even attempt to use it! He raves about it, but the advancements in packs has made bearing heavy weights much more appealing. You could probably find one for cheap.

I love mine as long it's only light weights. I see them all the time is antique stores for $25.00 or so depending on condition.

This is bs, one trip to the back surgeons, if your lucky 2 surgeries.
I think they get used for taxidermy scenes mostly!
I've put many miles on with a trapper N.
I wouldnt even put one on for the memories. :-)
Not kidding.

and that is why the older generation thinks the younger generations are a bunch of "pussies"
that's my dad at 72 (I believe) with the TN...and us "'boys" with the wilderness wanderer.

now, if only this younger generation, who is becoming the older generation, could actually post a pic without the link...lol

Great pack frame and bag. Used them actively from 1970 until just a few years ago. Probably why I walk with a limp.
They make a great wall hanger with a nice pair of wood and gut snow shoes and a coal oil lantern.

Oh boy are those some shitty packs. Sure they have a great vintage look and a storied history but lets be honest, padding is pretty good stuff. If you think a little gratuitous pain will toughen you up then just put some devils club in your ginch.

When my brother and I were strapping teens my Dad took us goat hunting up in the Moose Skin Johnny area of the Telkwa mountains, we all had the trapper nelsons. "Best pack ever made" blah blah blah. Great trip, bad bag.

So not worth much outside of curio value in my opinion.

We have my late Father in Law's which he used trapping, riding box cars, etc. throughout BC a long time ago.
Like J_T says, it's gonna look great on the wall of our cabin addition, just don't know if it'll hang by the snowshoes or the HBC paddles.
Have seen them at gun shows, "antique" shows and junk stores anywhere from $10.00 on to $100.00.
