Out for a run yesterday and got passed by a MD Buck trotting down the street.
He appeared to be on a mission.
He turned into a nearby orchard ...... I could see a couple does standing there.
Interesting to watch him dog a couple does and even lip curled a few times.

After a couple minutes of following them around he turned and carried on with his walk about the neighborhood.

Hopefully some idiot doesn't try and poach him.
I simply cannot believe that every time a good buck shows up in the neighborhood someone inevitably tries to stick an arrow in him.
Disgusts me.
Part that blows me away is that these deer are right beside a school in a residential area and some fools try and kill them.

A bit early but I wonder if the colder weather and lack of moon out at night has anything to do with it. I remember when bucks used to be in full rut on Halloween.

The true rut is a long ways off.
I was simply surprised to see a medium age class MD buck showing rutting behavior this time of year.
Typical "guy" trying to make it happen on his terms.

typical "town" buck behavior, seems their habits differ a bit from the deer out of town. cool to see the swollen neck and lip curls this early.
