Well, I set again today in pursuit of the mates to the big sheds i found last weekend. While I never did find em, it proved to be a pretty interesting day! Just last week i was saying how I never find any mathing sheds, well the shed gods must like me cuz heres what i found today!

http://www.huntingbc.ca/photos/data/500/medium/IMG_1698.JPG (http://www.huntingbc.ca/photos/showphoto.php?photo=4970&size=big&cat=recent&limit=recent)

I found this pair on a very steep fir hillside only about 30 yards from each other.

On an interesting note I found this bucks antler from the previous year, last hunting season and posted a pic of it in my last shed thread, and here they are side by side, he put on some good growth in 1 year!

Next I found this one, not impressive or worth packing out, but it is the match another chewed up 4 poit antler I posted in another thread. (found nearly a km. away) Funny the rodents even chew off the same points!

I love the last picture. The antlers are so unique that there is no way to argue if they are from the same deer.
Very cool!

Next I hiked back to the spot where i found the mega mass shed, determined to find it. I started working along the steepest edge of the ridge which was almost a clif in places. I found the first one about 50 yards from the mega mass shed. At first I thought it was the match to the big 4 point I found last week, but another 40 yards along the cliff and I found the match, both in perfect condition hardly a tooth mark on em!

I havnt ran a tape over em but i figure an honest 160-165 class buck! The funny thing is i walked about 20 yards away from these sheds last weekend.

Got out for a few hours today. Found 4 in total, first was this set although they were about 300 yards apart and on different ridges. Funny thing is I probably walked about 5 ft. from both these sheds last hunting season.

Then I also found the match to another big shed that i picked up last hunting season, it was only about 30 yards away but tucked under a fallen tree. It was pretty badly chewed!

If they drop there ANTLERS when they see the HBC hat they are thinking that you got what you wanted from them ,,ANTLERS ,makes sense to me  .

Nice shed hunting results Mark, my guess is wintering area for the mulies and breeding area. Anyway you gave me inspiration seeing the brownies, also how long to turn the brownies into complete white do you guess?Good stuff Mark. Jel P.S. What is the best elevation in feet to find the most sheds approximately? I found some around 2200 ft. or so to 3000 ft. in reg 3. One guy here claims he found some at 4000 ft. seems odd to find them that high but he is a hunter of experience in Kamloops area. Jel

Hey, I took a break, did some hunting about five times out at my spots and had to come back to the best site this side of the mason dixon line, and the best hunters in the world to boot. I gotta get out shed hunting before the brownies turn white and the squirrels eat them all. Marks got me goin with those good pics. Jel

Jelvis,
Good to see ya back man. How'd your season go? Did you find the offspring of the LEGEND of the North River?
As for shed season, it's pretty much over for me. Way too green out there to be very productive anymore. You need to be hitting the hills months ago if you really want to bring home the brown. Here's some of my best of the season.

Jelvis??? We thought you died or something! To answer your question, the areas I found most of my sheds this year was about 3700ft. I was a little surprised as there was about 5 ft of snow there last winter and the bucks could of easily hiked to lower ground! On the positive note, I never found 1 shed smaller than a 4 pointer!!!
Heres a link to another shed thread! Good to see ya back! Mark :)

Right on boys I'm going to read this post and study up on the info and check the flora and fauna, is it possible to add more to this post?
