Went to meet some friends in Region 3 for 5 days of hunting.....I left PG Thursday at 12-30pm and was up in my area by 6pm....at 6-30 I had a 4 point down. Loaded up and headed down to camp and after a few " Whats taking you guys so long " jabs we got him hung and skinned. Got up the next morning and to sum it up we had 3 more bucks on the meat pole hung and skinned by noon. In a day and a half I seen 80 deer and 20 were bucks. Glad to see things are looking great down south. Not to mention the amount of animals I've seen heading south from up north as I travelled home. We are gonna spent a lot of years trying to beat this record time....LOL. And the first pic was taken in camp just before we hung it.

was it at least cold enough to hang meat or did you have to pack up and leave without some essential "campfire time"

It was down to zero at night and 7 to 8 degrees during the day.... we did go home early though but not because of warmth.

Nothing wrong with quick, more time to warm up at the fire, sip on drinks and tell stories
Well done

Wow! that's just awesome....it is definitely a good year for deer, it's helped that our last few winters have been mild...

It is depressing what has happened to deer here........It used to be absolutely great......there are still areas bucks can be found but not like before that's for sure.

Way to go, got to take the good easy years with the bad tough ones. I can hardly wait to find an excuse to try deer hunting.

Newb Question - The 3 deer you removed the head, do you have to leave the nuts attached?
Nice haul!

Just curious, were you in a fairly popular area? That looks like the meat pole I passed on the weekend, I've been up to region 3 a few times this season but haven't gotten anything yet.

I seen that meat pole too or one exactly like it in reg 3 not an hours drive from the Deer City.
Please explain?

It is in a very popular area.......There were a lot of hunters there......A couple had been there a week and hadn't seen a deer with horns yet.......This is a result of spending 7 years dissecting and analyzing the area....I've put a lot of miles on walking every inch of this area from top to bottom and it is paying off. Last year I had a truckload of guys complain that they had seen 6 deer in 5 days.......I was on day 4 and my deer count was over a 100. I can honestly say I've really enjoyed learning this area and know exactly where deer travel on that mountain now.

If it's where I'm thinking it is I've spent a ton of time there over the last few seasons, their seems to be a lot more bucks around this year compared to previous years, I just have to get lucky and connect with one :p

Not gonna lie RUSSM,,,,,,the buck to doe ratio is a lot higher this year than ive seen yet......the funny thing is every one of those bucks we got could have been a fawn I seen 2 to 4 years ago........its nice to see that's for sure.

The two little bucks are only one and a half years old, twin brothers, I bet you shot them side by side, if they were together when you blasted them. So no way you saw them 4 years ago, and The buck in the sage is a 2 and a half so that one you dint see either, bucks are killed a lot b4 they get five years old. Mule bucks need 5 and a half years to become a dominant force in the rut. At 5 and a half the vertebrate and bones are at maximum fullness of growth. For a human it takes 27 years.
Once the nutrition he used to build his big strong frame until 5 and a half isn't needed, it now goes into his antler pedistills to use that energy and strength building into his royal crown of heavy tines and great height and width, each tine a foot long and perfectly balanced on both sides and the doe's go hog wild, like Lady's Night at Magic Mike's Place --
