One from August. A little over 29" and around 9 pounds. Biggest this year.

Walleye are one of my favourite fish to eat. Anything over 22" gets put back but I do keep the odd smaller one for a shore lunch.

Normally we don't keep larger ones, but sometimes there are no small ones here, or they are damaged to badly and die. This one was beading badly from the gills and did not make it

walleye are the best....hot skillet with oil, lil salt and pepper over a fire for shore lunch...eating the fillets while the hearts are still beating in the gut pile.....I think I am going to drown in drool...

Where is the closest place to the lower mainland that holds walleye? The Koots?

Great fish guys.
Are there any spots to go near the Okanagan ?
I have heard about Castlegar but need confirmation.

Columbia River, they came up from the U.S.A..

Shhhhh. If the government finds out they will add a import fee to our fishing licenses.

Interesting.. We fish lots for walleye in NW Ontario but never heard of them in BC. Minnows/spinners, diving rapalas, all work well trolling. How do you fish them in the river? Is it a generally flat, slow moving river?

There are Walleyes in B.C north/east into the Peace area as well. The Columbia is a very large river with deep holes and back eddies. Bouncing a jig or weighted fly on or close to the bottom is a method. They are Walleye, they are fished just like most Walleyes.
