you prolly won't need one for the goat...or for the antlerless mule..what else you gonna hunt?

Well we don't have a quad on this hunt and we'll be an hour or two hike above base camp, also there are a good number of buck options where we'll be and I'm not excited about quartering to carry down to camp for skinning... do you not think one is a good idea?

Princes auto has one that attaches to your trailer hitch. And easily converts into a game cart.

That might be just the ticket as I do have a quad I'm in the process of replacing an engine gasket on. Thanks..!

Anybody that thinks a cart would be remotely useful on a goat hunt has never done much hunting, or thinking about hunting, goats.

I'll see what I can find for you on the meat hook question though. Does it have to be that colour handle? Real sharp or just so-so? Is there a particular curve of the hook that you prefer?

Is it illegal, or just poor ethics, to bait hunters?

looks like something we use to chuck hay. Should work for animals too. Look at a buckerfields or agricultural store.

Thanks again albravo2 but I just lucked out and got the very last one in stock here at a supplier in Vancouver called Ramiac (http://raimac.com/) that happened to sell professional grade Dexter meat hook for butchers, exactly what I need for working on large salmon and debonning large game.

I processed 160 very large sockeye salmon last year and this tool would have been very handy indeed....

Order yourself a Pack Kart from Sasquatch. You will not regret it.
Here is a thread from a couple years ago.
http://www.huntingbc.ca/forum/showthread.php?109619-Sasquatch-Game-Hauler

I have used mine now on 2 Chilcotin mule deer hunts. I won't leave home without it.
Game carts, no matter the configuration, are not suitable for any or all terrain.
There are some animals you will just have to pack board or drag out.
That being said, where they can work, they are a great piece of kit. The Sasquatch built cart is exceptional. MADE IN BC!

Sasquatch Fabrication is in Keremeos if that is on your route, their cart is designed and built by hunters for hunters and won't collapse like the Chinese ones. Ken and Derek are great guys.

The Sasquatch.......

I was very skeptical about these carts until we used one on my elk a couple weeks ago. The whole elk, quartered, fit on the cart. I was impressed and will be ordering one.

I bought a cabelas cart. Found the handles were long enough when 1 person driving it, but 2 short when going tandem. Had to weld on extensions.

Depends on the height and reach of the user.

could you possibly lash a couple of solid sticks on while out in the field to serve the same purpose???

I had planned on trying that with mine if I found it to be too short on the handle...

you could but why not fix it right the first time? Plus I got a welder and a pile of steel :)

I use a piece of uhmw 1/8"x24"x65" with holes drilled for lashing on the sides and two holes in front for climbing rope to pull it,rolls up small weighs next to nothing and fits it the pack.
