Was out this weekend just like every weekend for black bear and deer been hunting hard all
month for a my first bear .was the last 30 minutes of light and spotted something moving around so stopped imidiatley loaded a round and snuck up on the bear we had just saw . Came around the corner and there he was eating away I was only about 75 yards away but he was a very small juvenile bear.would love to have shot my first bear but at 3 -4 feet I let him go to grow a little more . All in all a fun weekend can never complain about being out in the bush .

Well done on letting the younger bear pass, I know it's a hard thing to do. I only just got my first bear this past spring. Keep at it and it will pay off sooner or later!!

As for the pics, this was taken from "Coach" he has it in his signature.

That's pretty good of you letting that one walk, great job of getting a picture of the bear.

Let one that size walk out in 8-5 earlier this season. Feels good to know that I'm not the only one who will hold off on one momma just gave the boot.

It was definitely tough considering I've been itching for my first bear and have put a ton of hard work and money into bear hunting this past spring and fall but for me was the right call to hold off on this one .

Good job, been there, done that. I usually stalk small ones for practice until they bust me.

Good call. Late in the season you might make a different call but I think that was the right move.

Just seeing the colour and the movement of a bear gets the heart going, right?

Good job on letting it pass. If anyone happens to shoot a real small one, I'd be interested in the hide. I have this dream involving a Halloween costume for my nephew and trick or treating with him in some of the malls in North Van....
