We got this deer two days ago, this is my second blacktail ever and biggest. I scored it using the Boone and crocket web site and I came up with 104.5 with 1.5 inches in deductions, not a pro at scoring by any means do you think I am close? we got to our spot just as it got light and spotted a group of bucks only saw two at first and both were smaller then this guy, so we slowly started to try and get around them and hope they would continue the same direction as they were when we spotted them, a good 45 min latter we spotted them again and I was in front of my dad and I saw them only 150 yards away I thought we were busted as I thought the one spike had spotted us but we froze and in a few min which seemed like for ever he started to feed again but every little move we made he looked in our direction so I sat down and rested my rifle on my knee and waited as my dad did the same, a few min later they walked a few steps into a shooting lane and I had the shot and took it, he went maybe 75 yards and it was all over but the work. completely deboned the deer as we had a good hike to get out and loaded it into our packs and a two hour hike out. once home we weighed the meat and had just under 100 pound of pure meat!! it was a awesome day to be out hunting with my dad. I hope these pics work!!!!

he almost looks like he could have some whitetail in him from that rack...is there any chance of hybrids in that area?

Awesome deer. Great pictures and story. I'm no expert either but he looks all of what you scored him. Congratulations.

Looks to be "at least" what you scored him. Can you post the score sheet?

You should crop out the mountains in the back if you want your spot to stay secret.... Nice BT though.

Congrats on a great buck! Looks like you're really close to some of my haunts on the WA side of the border! Here is my story of the buck I got this year.

Based off what I'm seeing, you're score sounds pretty accurate.

Thanks for sharing!

Awesome hunt and beautiful buck. Love the job on the skull too, did you do it yourself?

Just a side note, I've seen a couple comments around here with people asking for help and then "you got a better chance asking to sleep with the wife" geniuses responding. I for one cannot be happier when I see one of you scoring a kill and bringing the meat home. I for one think that the more pictures and people show up hunting the better it is for all hunters in the long run. We shouldn't belittle and berate each other, we're not in here for a comfortable ride on the road, we're here for the chase, the freedom and the meat :). Never forget about the meat.

Happy hunting, pass the bug onto others, please!

Men and boys hunting with their dad has been part of the tradition since the Pleistocene, so it's really nice that you guys are out there together.

Well done!

Do NOT judge a deer by it's rack. Look at the tail.

Familiar faces! I think we might have seen you guys in another area during spring bear season, maybe the last week of April.

Congrats on an awesome buck and a lot of meat! Must have been a tiring hike down bet I bet you were smiling all the way!! :)

To get a Buck like that one is fantastic, but to get it when your Dad's with you is "Incredible"! I'll bet he was as excited as you were, maybe even a bit more! Way to go guys!

yes of course...it is the second BT rack I have seen that on a quick glance you might say it was a WT but yes that is only the rack and it can grow in weird ways
