Didn't have a gun with me in the pre season looking to set up my game cam was looking for a spot but could hear a bear cruisin around and getting closer tried to make my self obvious by making some noise and breaking some sticks. I had a 14" Bowie and some bear spray but he clearly wasnr concerned with me there and I didn't want trouble so I hooked it on a tree and split.

next day check the cam and less than two minutes after I left he came marchin into screen

Looks like a colour phased interior black bear.

That's a tough pic to judge. Body position and the tree make this a tough one but I agree with bc billies. Blackbear.

I shot a big ol blackie a few years back and he had a very distinctive hump on him, and looks like a very nice size bear you got there. Has he been hanging around? My bear mounts getting kinda lonely and that fella would mighty fine next to him :razz::razz::razz:

First thought was Grizz cause of the distinguished hump that you can see. Decent bear either way though.

Head down makes the hump look more prominent.

Tapered muzzle looks like a black bear snout to me.

My first thought was why did you locate a large tree in the middle of your frame? I agree, it appears to be a colour phase black bear. Nice bear. Nice hide.

Hump there and the ear seems to kinda point forward. Could be of the grizzled variety. So what region was that?

I'd go black because of the flat snout and no brow ridge.

My eyes must be failing me, I can not see a snout. I could not get the picture any bigger. I'm am not a bear expert, but I would lean towards a black bear as others have. Its a nice bear.

It's a black bear I'm in region 2 and this is 25 km up Chilliwack lake road - I'm not all that into bear hunting so if someone wanted to go for a bear I could give them directions. I just posted it because when I looked at the photo the next day it made me look twice at what I was looking at.
