It was a short mulie season for myself, opening day I went into an area I really like and saw nothing but does and hunters. I went for a drive about a week ago for the last two hours of light with a buddy of mine, we saw thirty two deer in that two hours. We ended up in a big cut block at the end of it and I had an excellent feeling about this spot. So everyday off of work I would drive to this cut for first light, lots of does and little bucks. But I just had this feeling so I kept going back in there. Unfortunately my transmission blew up so I wasn't able to continue hunting. Monday morning (September 21) rolls around and I asked my buddy to borrow his truck, so off I go. Saw lots of does, a little two point and a very big two point in my cut. Well damn I thought, so I drove to some other areas didn't see much, on my way out I figured I'd check that big cut out one more time. But before that I came to a road above the cut kind of on the edge of it, me and my buddy never have seen any deer up there but lots of blue grouse so I thought maybe I'll see one or two of them. Well about two hundred yards down the road I spotted a deer, a spiker, he kept looking back so I looked and there was a two point and another buck that was atleast a three and a fourth one that all I saw was ass. I chased them around never did find them, then I thought to myself "I bet it they kept going straight they'd come out in that big cut." So I boogied down there, drove to where the road turns into a skidder trail, stopped and wondered if i should go for a walk or not. Then outta no where DEER! A little spiker, another one! A two point, then behind them another stepped out and I knew right away that's a four point so i jumped out and got situated on a stump towards where the buck was going, at a full tilt run it's real hard to count points so I whistled, he stopped, yep that's a four, as he starts running again I whistle once more, he stopped dead in his tracks broad side at about 180 yards. BOOM. And the rest is history. This is my first four point in four point season so you could imagine I'm pretty stoked :)
