2015 West Kootenay Bull Elk

Had this bull bugling for 4 hrs with 2 other bulls on the morning of Sept 23rd,but no shot was offered. Left this bull for the day and returned at 5:00PM and on the walk in he was already screaming. So I quickly got to my spot and waited for him to come to me, for 30 min he bugled a dozen more times but I refused to call back worried that he would hang up. Turned out to be a good choice as he made his way out of the creek bottom and into the opening. Ranged him at 418 yards and squezed off a shot , he ran only 50 yards and piled up. My biggest bull to date, thanks to my hunting partner Adam for all his help.

Haha Thanks everyone, Gary Donald from big buck magazine called me a few years back asking me for the story of my avatar buck, how he heard about it is beyond me, he wouldn't say. The story of that buck was in the fall 2009 edition.
