Nothing as exciting as todbartell's story, but nevertheless here it is. After a weekend of wilderness hunting and not even hearing a bugle, I decided to give my own farm a try. I set up in a brushline adjacent to one of the fields late on Monday afternoon. Tried some cow calls and then let out a single bugle. Some 15 minutes later, here he comes! When he got to around 75 meters I fired the .338 loaded with 250 grain bullets and heard a very satisfying "smack" but instead of falling he took off running across the field. I fired again and later learned that this second bullet hit him in the neck. He still made into the thick willows! Crossing the field at a run I began the search but could not find him. I jumped on my quad and raced to my cabin to get my wife and my dog. Before you know it, there he was...

Here's where we found the bull. Sorry about the "bloody" photo...

Nice job, and funny how that goes. Reminds me of a bear hunt this spring. Just before leaving my buddy's farm he says "We should just check the hay field..." Sure enough, big blacky right there! :-)
