New forum member here and relatively new to hunting got my license three years ago put in a 2 seasons of waterfowl and a year and a half of big game .ive been on trips with guys who have taken deer but I personally have yet to bag a bear or buck .the seasons still early and I have no doubts I'll get my buck in open season this year but black bears is surprisingly what I'm struggling with I've read lots and researched scouted and driven all over hiked all over .ive put in about 400 hours or more for black bears between spring and now and have only seen one grizzly or colour phase which was yesterday up in north bend beautiful bear would of been a trophy black for sure but I could not tell what it was I know Grizzlies have humps and darker claws and what not but it seemed to have characteristics of both .wouldnlove to bag a black before the hibernate any help would be awesome.
cheers Taylor

Lost of differences in their heads. Study lots of pictures of both would be my suggestion, and a good pair of binos.
Good luck on your next hunt!
